The 24hr tennis marathon at The National Tennis Centre, Roehampton, last Saturday and Sunday, was a great success.

Danny Sapsford and Stuart Rhodes were partnered throughout the event by a selection of willing former Davis and Fed Cup players including Jeremy Bates, Jamie Baker and James Auckland. Twelve tennis clubs from Surrey provided the opposition, each club being represented by 2-6 players.

Tim Henman and Micheal Jones

The club players really enjoyed sharing a court with the former professionals and receiving some invaluable tips to help their games. Everyone had a fantastic time on the court and a lot of great tennis was played.
The event culminated in a tennis exhibition between Danny and Stuart, against Bright Ideas for Tennis ambassador, Tim Henman and lucky auction winner, Michael Jones from Richmond LTC. Michael played superbly and together with Tim were deserved winners by 7 games to 5.
