Local charity Burgess Sports will take over the running of the café by the tennis courts in the park from Monday 19th April, serving great coffee, tea, pastries, toasties, soup, salads and cakes. All profits from the café, called CLUBHOUSE, go towards providing activities and food for children living in the underprivileged areas around Burgess Park.
Says Burgess Sports CEO Alejandra Teixido, ‘The pandemic has put extra pressure on funding for charities, so our café is an important step forward in our fundraising plans. We hope that the community will support our friendly, vibrant café, knowing that they can help provide a better start in life to local children with every cup of coffee.’
