We have been working in partnership with Southwark Council since taking over the running of the Burgess Park Tennis Centre in 2011. We are grateful for this support in allowing us to develop tennis in the local area.
However, we do have some issues with the Council in terms of the lack of any formal plan for tennis in the Borough. After presenting a petition to the Council's Cabinet meeting in June 2017 they kindly agreed that a Plan for Tennis would be developed for the Borough. Another presentation was made to Cabinet in April 2019 with a firm commitment being made by Southwark Council to develop a Long Term Plan for Tennis by the end of the year; this is still pending.
Boost Charitable Trust was created in 2005
to Build On Over-looked Sporting Talent, to champion the disabled and
disadvantaged and to inspire them to overcome their challenges through the power of sport. Since inception, Boost has supported a number
of organisations, with grants totalling in excess of £1 million. The majority has been focussed within the United Kingdom. We are very grateful to have
received support over a number of years finishing in 2017.
The Norton Rose Charitable Foundation has been supporting a number of community sports clubs in Southwark since 2010 after moving to new offices in the borough. The Together for Sport initiative has allowed us to offer free and subsidised coaching for husbands of children in the borough. The grant scheme is ably administered by the Capital Community Foundation.
We are very grateful to have received support over a number of years finishing in 2017.
